The dangers of opioid abuse are being brought to everyone’s attention by a bereaved mother whose son tragically passed away.

In a touching Facebook post, Sherri Kent explained that her 22-year-old son Michael had overdosed on prescription drugs. Fentanyl, which is roughly 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, was administered to him at a lethal dose.

The distraught mother wrote, “I want everyone to know that my son Michael overdosed on fentanyl. “My son was not addicted; rather, he committed a mistake that resulted in his death.

Michael Kent died on March 21st.

According to the CBC, the mother claims that Michael and his sister were doing something when they met an unidentified man who offered them drugs. The day before the tragedy, it took place. Despite being advised not to take the pills by his sister, Michael met the man the following day. He purchased the drugs and took them to the bathroom of the store, where he overdosed on them.

Sherri told the CBC that “he was in cardiac arrest” when the ambulance arrived.

Michael died shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
