The video of Archie Bunker supporting the national anthem is becoming popular again, even though it’s been 50 years since it happened.

Archie Bunker was a famous character on TV. He was on “All in the Family” for a long time and connected with many Americans who understood his ideas about being American.

The show portrayed Bunker as a patriotic man who served in the military. That’s why he couldn’t tolerate anyone disrespecting the national anthem.

While some of his views might not fit today’s changes in society, many people still appreciate his support for the anthem and America.

In the video, Bunker and his son-in-law Meathead were watching TV together.

When the national anthem played before a sports game, Meathead criticized it, saying it glorified war.

He thought the anthem was written during a time of conflict between the USA and Britain, so it didn’t represent everyone fairly.

When Meathead criticized the anthem, Archie Bunker disagreed strongly.

Meathead said the song was terrible, which shocked Bunker.

Bunker warned Meathead not to argue, saying he was just trying to watch the game.

“That song’s nice, so be quiet.”

He moves in his seat, ready to argue back.

“Huh? The song makes war sound good, and it’s a bad song. Nobody remembers the words.”

“Are you going to spoil the game for me?” Bunker responds angrily.

“Do you remember the words?”

“Of course I do!” Bunker yells.

Meathead dares Archie Bunker, who loves his country, to sing the start of the national anthem. What follows will make you laugh hard. Meathead insists Archie sings before continuing the game.

Lots of people found this scene hilarious on YouTube.

“Mike just had to argue with Archie during his football game, even about the anthem. Way to go, Archie!”

“When Mike and Archie argue, Mike is usually right, but there are two times when Archie is right and Mike is wrong. One of those times is when Mike disrespects our National Anthem in this episode.”
