The Star of “My 600 Pound Life,” Marla McCants has shed more than 500 pounds, and here she is today.

One of the best bariatric surgeons is Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, more commonly referred to as Dr. Now. Throughout his long and successful career, he assisted numerous individuals in making significant life changes. He also appeared on the reality show My 600-lb Life, which airs on TLC.

Because he wants his patients to know how serious their condition really is, he often treats them harshly. Although Dr. Now is well-known for never turning down a patient, he admits that there are times when he is unable to assist those who do not wish to assist themselves.

Dr. Now was one of the people who appeared on the show, and Marla McCants accepted him.

She weighed a hefty 800 pounds when she joined the My 600-Lb Life program. She ate almost constantly and was morbidly obese. She even had a small frying pan that she used to fry chicken all the time and kept by her bed. She was too weak to stand, so she left everything to her daughter Sierra.

Marla refused to cooperate and spent more time in the hospital than other patients after bariatric surgery. Dr. Nun eventually decided enough was enough and allowed her to return home. Marla’s story was rejected when Sierra asked the doctor to take Sierra’s mother back.

Marla had shed a lot of weight by this point, but she still wouldn’t get out of bed, and the fryer was still by her side. She had hoped to have more skin removal surgery, but she hadn’t lost enough weight to be eligible for that.

Marla was still unable to stand despite having bariatric surgery almost a year ago.

She stated, “I was a little depressed a few months ago because things did not go the way I thought they would. But things are getting better.” I am becoming more stronger.

“I came to Texas so that I could get my life back and be here for my grandchildren, but I still don’t feel like I can be as involved in their lives as I should. Therefore, I can’t wait to complete this surgery,” she said.

She continued, “I still have an appetite, I miss fried chicken.” I’ve tried to eat it, using olive oil, but it doesn’t taste the same, and just eating meat is a little depressing. I’ve tried to find a way to eat it.

“I can only state that I am human. You are not required to starve; You simply need to make better decisions.”

The good news is that Marla got what she wanted out of the situation in the end. She came to the conclusion that she had to let her daughter move on with her life because she no longer wanted to be a burden.

She even asserted that the show’s production manipulated her case. In an interview on YouTube, she said to Rickey Smiley: Like the scene in which I refused to get out of the hospital. You have no idea why I did not think of that. First of all, it was only a month after gastric bypass surgery when it came out a year ago.

In the first month, I had lost 70 kilograms. The 13th of February, 2015, I had surgery; In March of 2015, this episode aired. Therefore, I just lost 70 pounds. I was hospitalized, undernourished, and he wanted me to lift? Are you joking? You want me to get up because I have blood on the bed?”

She lost 580 pounds and is now unrecognizable after the show.

She talked about a time when she had an eating disorder when she appeared on Sister Circle in 2019.

She explained, “I never want to go back there.” the treatment I received. I will never return there. It makes me lonely.

“First and foremost, I want to say that food addiction exists. I will always have that mentality. She continued, “I struggled with it.”

“You will never want to go back there because of how I was treated. A book’s cover should never be the deciding factor. Everyone has a story to tell and needs to get back to their roots.”

She added, “Those people who think the people on the show are annoying are just ignorant.” You can accomplish what I did, you can overcome your challenges and fears.

Marla is now a true beauty and a huge source of motivation for those going through the same changes she did. She has regained control of her life.
