The 88 Years Old Crossing Guard Who Died Pushing Children Out Of The Way Of A Speeding Car, In My Opinion He Deserves Our Respect.

There are Real Heroes, and they don’t just come from movies or cartoons. These people do amazing things that sometimes require a lot of sacrifice.

A crossing guard in Kansas City gave his life on Tuesday to save children who could have died.

Bob Nill, 88 years of age was well-liked by students and worked as a crossing guard at Christ the King Community School for five years. Many of the students referred to him as “Mr. Bob.”

At around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, a black sedan drove through the Nill crossing, according to reports.

Nill risked himself in order to save two children.

School principal Cathy Fithian told KMBC 9 that “He stopped [the two kids] and they listened, thank God, but of course he was the victim.”

Witnesses claim that when a car drove by, Nill pushed the children away. He was, regrettably, beaten. According to his nephew Randy, the brave act was not out of character.

He elaborated “To some, what my uncle Bob did to move the young children across the road may have seemed insignificant, but to him, it was a very important job, and now we really understand how important it was. He might have helped a few people.”

Before taking his retirement, Nill worked in banking and the Coast Guard. He continued to give back to his community by working as a border crossing guard after retiring from his full-time job.

“I think he felt like he could help children and happy go lucky about the thing he was doing,” Randy said.

On Tuesday, Christ the King Parochial School put out a statement on its Facebook page.

“We want to tell you about Mr. Nill, our crossing guard. We are struggling to inform you of his passing. Please keep Mr. Nill, his family, and the students, parents, and teachers who witnessed today’s accident in your prayers.”

“Know that Mr. Nill is a hero as well. When a car came close, he stopped two of our students from crossing the street.”

Bob Nill, peace be upon you. You will always be remembered as a hero because of the lives you saved.
