Paranormal experts have debunked claims about “ghost soldiers” in a viral Gettysburg video.
Greg Yuelling recorded the eerie footage during a visit to the historic Civil War site in Pennsylvania.
He described the experience: “We were driving at night and heard strange noises—me on the left and my uncle on the right. There was a strange patch of fog, not spread out. Then we saw human-sized shapes moving in the dark, and one even ran through a cannon.”
The man was shocked after watching the videos and started believing he had filmed ghostly soldiers.
Dailypositiveinfo showed the footage to Barri Ghai and Jayne Harris, hosts of Help! My House is Haunted. However, they believe Yuelling didn’t actually capture ghosts.
Ghai, an investigator and technology expert, carefully analyzed the video multiple times and offered a logical explanation.
“These aren’t ghosts,” Ghai explains. “Although Gettysburg has a rich history and many paranormal stories, I believe what we’re seeing is moisture on the car’s windshield.”
Ghai points out that the footage appears to have been filmed from inside the car, and the foggy effect is likely caused by condensation.
“There’s definitely moisture running down the windshield,” he says. “It’s a mix of environmental factors and how the mist and fog look through the glass.”
While the video is impressive, historian and psychologist Jayne Harris believes there are too many environmental factors to prove it’s paranormal.
“It’s a great clip, but I don’t think it’s a ghost,” Harris says, adding that it can be disappointing for those hoping for proof.
She also notes that with modern technology, like smartphones, more people are recording what they think might be paranormal activity, leading to an increase in such videos.
The “ghosts” in the Gettysburg video aren’t real—at least not in this footage.
You can watch Ghai, Harris, and their team investigate paranormal activity in the new season of Help! My House is Haunted, now streaming on Discovery+. Along with psychic medium and exorcist Ian Lawman, they tackle some of the toughest and most chilling cases ever shown on TV.
