Dad helps a little girl get a kidney transplant that saves her life.

Nathaniel, the son of Karen Rodas and Paul Rybkin, only lived for 36 hours when he was born.

He was born with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a rare disorder that causes kidney cysts to form and can eventually cause kidney problems.

The New Jersey couple welcomed Maddy in 2013, and she was born with the same illness as the family’s first child. Nevertheless, after a two years battle with the illness, Maddy was given a chance at survival thanks to her father.

Due to her illness, Maddy Rbykin’s tummy swelled, and for the first 18 months of her life, she spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital.

Maddy was doing fine despite the hospital trips, tubes, and oxygen treatments until her health started getting worse.

According to The Mirror, Maddy was extremely exhausted, sleeping up to 18 hours each day, and frequently throwing up.

She might pass away, according to doctors, if a suitable kidney donor cannot be identified.

Successful Operation

After that, her dad Paul was found to be a good match, and he was able to give his daughter the surgery she needed to save her life.

Karen said, “My nerves were a mess with Paul and Maddy, two of my most precious souls, undergoing surgery.”

The surgery went well, and both the father and the daughter are doing well.

Karen continued, “Daddy’s kidney has saved our little girl.” “She has endless energy now. She is now a happy and healthy two years old with just a slight rounding of her once-massive belly.”

Paul, who was being humble, said he would have acted just as a normal parent would.

Healthy and content little child

“We’ve been through a lot, but every father would have done what I did and given Maddy a kidney. It’s a component of parenting.” he stated, by The Mirror.

“We can now watch Maddy growing into a healthy and cheerful young lady while high on life.”

In 25 years, Maddy might need a second kidney transplant, but to her father, that seems like a “long time away.”

You can follow Maddy’s journey here, where her mother continues to provide updates on how things are going for her daughter. It’s wonderful to see how she is progressing and coping in 2023.

I’m very glad that something was accomplished. Bless both her and her father!

Please spread the word to send well wishes to Maddy.
