Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, who were married for 28 years, decided to get divorced for the third time and shared the news in April 2022. After the divorce, Billy Ray began dating an Australian artist named Firerose. In November 2022, they announced their engagement.

Thirteen years before Firerose auditioned for a part in Hannah Montana, she and Billy Ray Cyrus were already friends. The country singer recalled their first meeting, saying,
“There are a couple of old pine trees on the lot that resemble Tennessee. Tex (his dog) and I used to go there during the day, and he’d do his thing. We’d relax, and I’d think about how much I missed Tennessee. On that particular day, Firerose came out of the front door. There was almost a moment of, I don’t know, recognition. I thought, ‘This girl is a star.'”
Continuing, he said, “She mentioned she had an audition, and I told her, ‘I’m sure you got the job.'”
Even though Firerose didn’t get the role, Cyrus still introduced her to some producers.
“I just thought, well, the people who choose actors, the ones who make the show, they’re all in the same place where we film Hannah Montana. So, I told her, ‘Normally, don’t accept such an offer from a stranger, but in this case, Tex can vouch that you’ll be safe,'” he explained.
“I said, ‘I’ll introduce you to a producer, and you can feel comfortable watching our rehearsals. Maybe it leads to a role or just another connection at Disney.’ So, we went back to the studio – me, her, and Tex. She met the cast, producers, and writers. In many ways, we became friends,” the singer shared.
Cyrus and Firerose were friends until Cyrus asked her to be more than that after his divorce early last year. In August 2022, she moved in with Cyrus shortly after he proposed.
“Billy asked me, ‘Do you want to marry me?’ And I said, ‘Of course, I do. I love you,’” Firerose remembered. “He said, ‘I love you. I want to make this official. I want to be with you forever.’”
A few months after his ex-wife Tish remarried, Billy Ray married Firerose. In August 2023, Firerose wedded actor Dominic Purcell, known for “Prison Break.”
Brandi (36) and Trace (34), Tish’s children from previous relationships, were there and took pictures with Purcell and two of his four kids for the media. Billy Ray and Tish had adopted Brandi and Trace during their marriage. Miley Cyrus, Braison, and Noah were also present at the event.
Notably, Noah and Braison were missing from their mother’s wedding. On the wedding day, the siblings shared quick Instagram stories of their trip to Walmart, and Noah was seen wearing a Billy Ray T-shirt.
