A 13 years old girl got really bad burns on her neck because she used her phone while it was charging.

Most parents feel that keeping their children safe is the most important thing, starting from the moment they are born.

Just thinking about our kids getting sick or hurt is really scary. That’s why we work hard to keep them safe. We don’t even have to think about it much; it’s just something we naturally do as soon as we see our child.

Sadly, sometimes things don’t go as planned, even if we’re being really careful.

Many parents worry about things they can’t prevent, especially accidents they didn’t see coming.

Jackie Fedro understands this well. Even though her daughter’s scary experience happened in 2016, we still think it’s important to talk about it today.

BuzzFeed reported that in 2016, Jackie thought it was time for her 13-year-old daughter Gabbie to have her own phone. Gabbie got an LG d500 as a Christmas gift.

Jackie said they got her the phone so they could stay in touch better, especially with Gabbie’s busy practice schedule.

But then something really unexpected happened. Gabbie was using her phone in her room when Jackie heard her scream.

Jackie remembered Gabbie running downstairs, grabbing her neck in pain and screaming loudly.

“It’s terrible to see your child in pain and not know how to help them,” Jackie said. “It took her about five minutes to even tell us what happened.”

Gabbie explained that she was using her phone while it was charging, and she got an electric shock. The shock went from the charger, through her phone, and into her metal necklace, burning her neck.

Jackie told BuzzFeed that Gabbie got really bad burns on her neck, and now she’ll have a scar all around it.

Talking about what happened, Jackie warned other parents about the dangers of cellphones that people don’t talk about much.

“With lots of kids using phones these days, parents should know about the harm they can do,” Jackie said.

“It’s really scary! Have you ever heard of something like this? I haven’t.”
