The Dangerous Online Trend That Led to a Tragic Death

Kids often don’t realize how dangerous following online trends can be. Sadly, 11-year-old Tommie-Lee Billington died because of this. His grieving family is now warning others about the dangers on social media.

Tommie encountered a dangerous challenge on TikTok while staying at a friend’s house. The challenge involved inhaling harmful gases or solvents to get a high. This caused Tommie’s heart to stop suddenly, leading to his tragic death.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a rare incident. Two teenage girls also died from the same risky TikTok challenge. To protect our kids, we need to raise awareness about this deadly trend and take action.

Sherry, Tommie’s mom, is using social media to urge parents to talk to their kids about not doing dangerous things on TikTok. In a heartfelt Facebook post, she wrote, “This cost my son his life because he tried something other kids were doing. Please talk to your kids about the consequences. I don’t understand why anyone would try this! It’s really dangerous!”

Sherry expresses her pain and her commitment to honor her son’s memory by raising awareness and preventing other kids from the same fate. Let’s support Tommie’s family during this tough time and make sure no other child is harmed by this dangerous trend.

Rest in peace, Tommie. We are deeply sorry for your family’s loss. Let’s join forces to spread this important message and prevent any more needless deaths.
