The correct answer

The teacher said she would give two dollars to the student who could name the most famous man who ever lived.

An Irish boy said it was St. Patrick, but the teacher said that was wrong.

A French boy said it was Napoleon, but the teacher said that was wrong too.

Then a Jewish boy said it was Jesus Christ. The teacher said he was correct and gave him the two dollars.

While giving him the money, the teacher said she was surprised he chose Jesus since he was Jewish.

The boy answered that he believed it was really Moses, but he wanted the money.

The woman was very wealthy, and the man was poor but honest.

She liked him, but only as a friend, and he knew that.

One night, he acted a little more affectionate than usual and said, “You are very rich.”

“Yes,” she answered honestly. “I’m worth 1.25 million dollars.”

“And I’m poor,” he said. “Will you marry me?”

“No,” she replied.

“I thought you’d say no,” he said.

“Then why did you ask?” she asked.

“Just to know how it feels to lose 1.25 million dollars,” he answered.

Stanley was looking for a new desk for his office when he saw one in an antique shop that looked perfect.

He went inside and asked the shopkeeper how much it cost.

“Five thousand dollars,” said the shopkeeper.

“Five thousand for an old desk? That’s crazy!” Stanley said.

“But this is a magic desk,” the shopkeeper replied. He asked the desk, “Desk, how much money do I have in my pocket?”

The desk tapped its leg on the floor four times. The shopkeeper checked his pocket and found four dollar coins.

“That’s amazing,” said Stanley. “Okay, desk, how much money does my wife have in her bank account?”

Suddenly, the desk started banging all its legs nonstop for over five minutes.

“Wow… where did she get all that money?” Stanley wondered.

Then the desk’s legs spread apart and its drawers fell open.
