Mothers love with a big heart

Mothers are not perfect. They may not use the right words or wear the right clothes or have gone to the right schools, but one thing is for sure, they love with a big heart. Their family comes first, and it always will.

Jessica Lange once said that the natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. This is the picture you would see in Ben Carson’s tribute to her mother, Sonya Carson.

He wrote, “All that I am is because of the love of my mother.” This was for a woman who had little or no education, a single mother who had to stay in between jobs to afford for his sons’ education and wellbeing.

Most of all is that she did all these and still managed her way through to afford additional time to provide mentorship to her children as Ben Carson wrote in his book, Gifted Hands.

Such an act of kindness instead of frustration and anguish is something only possible with mothers’ love. This is not to say mothers are perfect beings, no. They are humans with fault also.

Sometimes they can be overwhelmed such that they scarcely will use the right words, or even have the time and luxury to wear good clothes. But when it comes to family love, it is their preoccupation and there is nothing that can come in between.
