Meg Ryan was a big star in romantic comedies during the 1980s and 1990s, with popular movies like When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail. But in the 2000s, after some movies didn’t do well and her personal life made headlines—including a divorce from Dennis Quaid and a short relationship with Russell Crowe—she decided to leave Hollywood.
