A woman, six months pregnant, asked her husband to be more involved and help her get ready for the baby’s arrival. His response surprised her.
She then asked people on Reddit if she was being unfair for giving her husband an ultimatum. That’s when she realized how serious her situation was.
The woman shared that she and her husband had been together for five years and married for six months, and she was six months pregnant when she sought advice.
The woman explained that her husband was very close to his mother, saying, “My husband is a total mama’s boy. He talks to her for hours and spends more time with her than with me.” The breaking point came when something happened that led her to post on Reddit.
What Happened Between the Woman and Her Husband?
When the woman reached six months of pregnancy, she asked her husband if he could be more present and help her get ready for their baby.
Her husband told her that spending more time with her would take away from the time he spent with his mother. While the woman understood this, she explained that she needed him more than his mother did at that moment. His response was:

While preparing for the baby alone, her mother-in-law called and told her that she had “won.” To make things worse, the woman could hear her husband laughing in the background. Even though she was angry, she carried on with her life as normal.
A few weeks later, it was their anniversary. The wife bought her husband a gift and cooked his favorite meal, but he had other plans for how he wanted to spend the day.
While she was in the bathroom, her husband came home from work but then left again. She thought he might be preparing a surprise for her, but when he hadn’t come back after half an hour, she called him to see where he was.

The husband confirmed he was at his mother’s house, so the woman told him that his mother might as well be the one having his child, since he was acting like he was in a relationship with her.
After hanging up, she received texts from both her husband and mother-in-law, telling her not to disrespect her mother-in-law. They said she should stop being bitter and jealous and find something else to do. She then turned to Reddit to ask if she was in the wrong.
