Leland Brown Jr. and Breanna, from Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA, made people talk when they said they like being called “houseless” instead of “homeless.” In a video from their tent, they explained why, saying “houselessness is cool” and talking about the skills they’ve learned living this way.
People had different reactions to what they said. Some supported their freedom, while others doubted their choices.
In the middle of this talk, Leland and Breanna started a GoFundMe to help their simple life and spend more time with Leland Jr.’s son. But they’ve only raised $162 of their $10,000 target.
We don’t know exactly why the couple became homeless. Some say different things about their past and now. In old videos, Leland had jobs and lived in a house. But now, they say they don’t want regular jobs.
They think they’re too smart for that and don’t need to hurry to find work.
Some people doubt if their choices are honest. They think they’re avoiding responsibility instead of choosing to be homeless.
