I took my 92-year-old dad to the mall recently to get him some new shoes. We stopped at the food court for a snack, and I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting nearby. The teenager had spiky hair in all kinds of colors—green, red, orange, and blue. My dad kept staring, and every time the teenager looked over, he caught my dad staring at him.
The teenager finally got annoyed and sarcastically asked, “What’s wrong, old man? Never done anything crazy in your life?”
Knowing my dad, I quickly swallowed my food because I knew he’d have a funny answer. Without missing a beat, he replied:
“Yeah, I did once. I got drunk and kissed a parrot. Now I’m just wondering if you might be my kid.”
