Cracker Barrel, usually known for its traditional values, surprised many fans by adding an Impossible sausage, a plant-based option, to its menu – a choice that may not appeal to meat lovers.
Cracker Barrel announced its new menu item with excitement, but many people were upset. They feel the restaurant gave in to public pressure and followed current trends instead of sticking to its traditional meat-focused menu.
Cracker Barrel is now offering the “Impossible Sausage” for customers who want a vegetarian option. This change has upset many meat lovers, who liked having an all-meat menu.
In a Facebook post, the company encouraged customers to “Discover new meat frontiers” by trying the plant-based sausage in their breakfast.
While many meat eaters are unhappy, vegetarians are pleased with the new choice. Judging by the Facebook comments, this move to appeal to health-conscious customers may be paying off for Cracker Barrel.
On Facebook, a customer named Laura thanked Cracker Barrel for adding a plant-based meat option, saying that more people are choosing plant-based diets for animals, health, or the planet.
Another customer, Scott, said he’s glad Cracker Barrel added this option, as it gives him a reason to come back after going vegetarian and then vegan for his health and the environment.
However, Cracker Barrel might be losing some of its meat-loving customers with this change.
Brenda K. Mauney posted on Facebook that it was a “bad choice” and urged Cracker Barrel to do more research.
Another user, Mark Vige, strongly expressed his dislike, saying he would never give up his pork sausage. Overall, while some people are pleased with the new option, many others are not.
It remains to be seen if Cracker Barrel made the right decision by adding the Impossible sausage to its menu.
For now, it looks like people are still deciding how they feel about it. Cracker Barrel told USA TODAY, “We’re always looking for ways to improve our breakfast options and offer choices for everyone.”
