My wife was in the kitchen, getting our regular breakfast of soft-boiled eggs and toast ready.
She had on the t-shirt she usually wears to bed.
As I entered, still half-asleep, she softly told me, “You need to love me right now!”
My eyes brightened, and I thought, “Either I’m still dreaming, or today’s going to be great!”
Not wanting to miss the chance, I hugged her and gave it everything I had, right on the kitchen table.
Later, she said, “Thanks,” and went back to the stove with her t-shirt still hanging around her neck.
Feeling happy but a bit confused, I asked, “What was that for?”
She clarified, “The egg timer isn’t working.”
