One rainy night, an old woman named Linda Meyers got caught in heavy rain. She had no umbrella, so her clothes and hair were all wet. She went to a popular café to stay dry, but the guard stopped her, saying the place was only for people with reservations. When Linda asked for the manager, Simon, he also turned her away, saying she might drive customers off because of how she looked.
Linda said she only wanted to stay until the rain stopped and promised to order food, but Simon still told her to leave. Hurt, she walked away to look for another place.
The next day, the café owner told Simon that some important guests were coming to possibly buy the café, so Simon got everything ready.
That evening, the owner introduced the guests — it was Linda and her husband. Simon was shocked. Linda smiled and said she and her husband were glad to buy the café.
After they became the new owners, Linda and her husband watched how the café was run. Because of how Simon treated her the night before, Linda made him a waiter instead of a manager. Simon felt embarrassed but accepted the change.

A few days later, a poor woman came to the café and ordered food but then realized she had no money. Simon paid for her meal and said that everyone deserves a little help. The woman told him he would be a manager again, which surprised him.
Then Linda explained that she had asked the woman to test him. Seeing his kindness and change of heart, Linda gave Simon back his job as manager.

From then on, Simon did his job with joy and treated everyone kindly. The café became even more successful.
